Once you have a budget in place, it's time to start planning your kitchen remodel. You probably already had a tentative plan (before budgeting), but you might have to prioritize things...consider what you're willing to sacrifice on if the budget gets tight or something goes awry.
For example, you might opt to refinish existing cabinets, vs. replacing them. Or, you could choose a less expensive countertop material to make up for spending elsewhere.
What do you want to change and how do you want your new kitchen to look and function? Do you want to update the cabinets, countertops, and appliances? Do you want to change the layout of the room?
Lastly, consider hiring a kitchen designer to help you develop a plan. Stores like Home Depot and Lowe's have staff who can help with this for little/no cost.
