Windows Printer prints back pages first

By John Bowen, 13 October, 2008

Sometimes, a Windows printer will print multi-page documents in the 'wrong' order...so you end up with a stack of papers with the last page on top. One possible reason is a configuration problem in the Printer Settings:

  1. Open the Printer Settings dialog for the printer:
    • Click Start>Printers and Faxes, or Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes
    • Right-click the printer's icon, then click 'Properties' from the bottom of the context menu
  2. Open the Printing Preferences dialog window:
    • Click the 'Printing Preferences' button near the bottom center of the Printer Settings dialog

  3. Change the Page Order setting:
    • Near the left center of the Printing Preferences dialog, a frame named 'Page Order' will have the 'Back to Front' option selected. Click the 'Front to Back' option to correct this.
    • Click 'OK' to confirm the change
