Recently, a client's custom-built computer (submitted for service work) caught my attention. It was obviously a custom-built machine, as there were no name brand tags glued to the case's front; but something else made me think it might not be a finely-tuned commercial production...

Those two wires are hanging out of the case, and are squeezed between the power button and the case itself. To power the computer on (or off), you have to momentarily touch the two wires together! After dissecting the front of the case, it looks like the system builder broke the wires off the power switch during construction. A quick soldering job made everything right...
